Audition Outlook: Week of Aug. 15-21
As classics often brought to area stages, it has become
the prime time to audition for upcoming holiday themed shows. There
are other various Cabaret-style or short play productions also
heading our way, so be sure to check out those auditions as well.
It also seems that this week is the prime time to fill a spot in
current productions that are looking for specific actors and
actresses to fill roles they haven't filled yet. Check out the
‘General Auditions' on Aug. 15. At noon is open call for kids ages
7-11 for newsboys and baby louise. 2pm is open call for male
tappers who sing well and act for Tulsa and the farmboys. 4:30pm
start appointments for Baby June, Dainty June, Louise and Hollywood
Blondes. Call Kate Conner at 215-785-6664 for an appointment. The
production will star Tovah Feldshuh as Mama Rose. Rehearsals start
November 15, 2011 and the show runs from December 6, 2011 through
January 15, 2012. All positions are paid. Join the community theatre movement presenting shows that
represent our ENTIRE beautiful society. Productions will be
accessible, both physically and in attitude, for the full
participation of people with physical and emotional challenges and
disabilities. We want to bring everyone together, regardless of
age, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual preference, or
physical ability. For the audition, we want to see YOUR best
performance. After the auditions, a play will be selected and cast
based on the abilities of those who auditioned! Please bring a
prepared monologue. (Cold readings will also be available.)
Auditions on Monday, August 15, 2011, 6:30-9pm. Also, bring your
IDEAS!! This is a community theatre movement for *you* - we want to
hear what you have to say! William Way is fully wheelchair
accessible. Those organizing the event have extensive education and
experience working with people with disabilities in varied
capacities. We speak poor to moderate American Sign Language.
