Happy hobby: Quilting store garners national attention

The shop, located off Kentucky Street in downtown McKinney, is featured in the Fall/Winter 2011 edition of "Quilt Sampler" magazine as one of 11 top quilt stores in America. The magazine names the submitted design, "Dutch Beauty," and teaches readers the materials and steps necessary for its creation. The quilt features a large “tree of life†motif, and it was designed and created by Elaine Ashley of Stitches in Time Quilting in New Milford. It is valued at $1200. The quilt is currently on display at the Bethlehem branch of Thomaston Savings Bank,
