Kountry Kikkers hosting 4-H Award Banquet
• Plantersville Kountry Kikkers has slated their Grimes County 4-H Awards Banquet on Sunday, Aug. 28, at 6 p.m. The theme this year is "Famous Celebrities." Everyone is encouraged to come dressed as your favorite celebrity.
We will be decorating our club tables for this banquet. Mrs. Atkinson and her daughters, Hannah and Autumn let us borrow some black sheets for table covers. Jodilyn and I have some loose rhinestones to scatter about and we will be printing pictures of each famous celebrity.
If you have any ideas, or have anything you would like to loan us, we would appreciate it. Our club can win $100 if we are picked the best decorated table. Fudrucker's will be feeding us, so come hungry! For more details, call Sherry Marrs at 936-894-1819.
• Kids, 8 to 18, are invited to come join the Plantersville Kountry Kikkers 4-H group in Plantersville. Our first club meeting of the year is slated for Sunday, Sept. 11, at 6 p.m. at Plantersville Townhall.
Also slated this day is a Family Picnic and our club version of a TV game show called "Minute To Win It". This new club version game will start at 4 p.m. and end at 6 p.m. with the picnic and meeting beginning.
Bring your favorite picnic dinner. We are not all about animals; we also teach many life skills. Call Sherry Marrs at 936-894-1819. Sherry would also like to send a big thank you to the following kids who helped pass out our club's information packets: Crystal and Henry Kirk and Hannah and Autumn Atkinson.
• The Plantersville Kountry Kikker's Clover Kids (ages 5-8) are starting up again. We will meet every second Sunday, at 4:30 p.m., at Plantersville Townhall. Our first meeting is slated for Sunday, Sept. 11, at above time and location. This club is free of charge for any member.
We focus on kids learning about 4-H, the community, becoming team players, making new friends, and enjoying parties and field trips. We also do community projects, so if you know of any projects, let me know. Parents are encouraged to join in the fun! Call Club Leader Mandy Wisneiski at 936-443-9681.
